An Insight in to an Election Campaign: What the Pollster Told the Party

Mark Textor is the Liberal Party pollster with his research forming the basis of most of John Howard's campaigns since 1996. Sometimes his findings and recommendations are hinted at. Rarely are even parts of them made public.

A month ago Murdoch press columnist Glenn Milne wrote a column based on Textor's June report. It told of the problems confronting the Liberals. Then last week the website crikey.com.au published a large part of the original document on its website, giving a rare insight in to what election campaigns are actually based on.

Today Crikey took the documents off the site after "receiving various legal threats from Crosby/Textor".
