Deputy chair Anne Henderson reported on 23 January 2006 as saying that public affection for the Queen and the trenchant opposition of the Prime Minister were the toughest obstacles for the republican movement. Ms Henderson said the movement expected a long campaign with significant breakthroughs unlikely for years.
