A coastal lobby group whose chairman Geoff Withycombe was quoted in The Australian of 11 March saying councils in Noosa, Byron Bay, Narrabeen and Glenelg had made development decisions based on land patterns over the past 30 to 50 years, but coastal habitats were dynamic and likely to change over a longer time period. "There are a lot of towns where the local council has allowsed developments too close to the dunes, and they will eventually get washed away."
