DrinkWise Australia

The organisation was established in 2005 after 18 months of consultations between leaders of the beer, wine, spirits industries, and hotels and liquor stores. DrinkWise has a long term mandate to change drinking culture in Australia through sustained education and campaign activities.

Foster's is one of three founding sponsors.

The chief executive of the Distilled Spirits Council of Australia, Gordon Broderick, described DrinkWise as "an independent organisation focused on promoting a cultural change to develop a more responsible Australian drinking culture. DrinkWise opposes the misuse and abuse of alcohol but encourages its moderate use, so that most people can enjoy alcohol as part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle."

Stephen Millar, former President and CEO of Constellation Wines, the world's largest wine company, member of the AWRI's Board, Executive Council Member and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Winemakers' Federation of Australia (WFA) is a Director of Drinkwise Australia.
