Jodie Brough brings to GA&Co comprehensive experience in media and communications, particularly focusing on strategic issues management in the public sector.
She has been a Sydney Morning Herald political reporter, Carr Government adviser and senior public sector manager involved in both infrastructure and transport service delivery agencies. Her experience includes two federal elections, two NSW elections, NSW and federal budgets and the largest motorway and transport infrastructure projects undertaken in Sydney and regional NSW in recent years.
Past roles include senior media adviser to the Minister for Transport and Roads, Carl Scully, General Manager Media and Government Relations, Roads and Traffic Authority of NSW and Director Ministerial and Strategic Coordination, NSW Ministry of Transport. These roles have brought her into contact with many Government, commercial and community stakeholders and given her an understanding of the complexities of delivering on high-end budget projects.
Jodie was closely involved in shaping the communications strategies for the $700M M5 East, the $700M Eastern Distributor, the $680M Cross City Tunnel, $1.5B Westlink M7, the $2.2B Pacific Highway Upgrade Program, the $2B Epping-Chatswood Rail Line and $900M Airport Link.
She also has extensive experience in crisis management, taking a leading role in managing the Carr Government’s response to the Glenbrook rail disaster and CityRail’s daily performance issues in the lead up to the successful transport effort for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
Prior to joining the NSW public sector, Jodie was a journalist covering national affairs in the Herald’s Canberra bureau. She spent more than seven years in the national capital, having begun her newspaper career on The Canberra Times under influential editors David Armstrong and Michelle Grattan.
