Tom DusevicBiographical Notes from The Walkley Awards website for 2005 All Media: Commentary, Analysis, Opinion and Critique Winner Tom Dusevic , Time Australia, "Politics, Economics and Diplomacy" Tom Dusevic is editorat-large of Time in the South Pacific, where he writes about politics, economics, diplomacy and social issues. He has reported from a dozen countries during a career that has also included stints as an editor at The Australian, Good Weekend and Time. In his three pieces, Dusevic demonstrated his flair for different styles and persuasive techniques. "Latham's Ladder" was the result of nine months of reading, reporting and hitting the road to observe the Labor leader. "Who Can Keep the Good Times Rolling?", also published during the campaign, was a plea to get politicians and voters to focus on longer-term economic issues. The deepening relationship between China and Australia was Dusevic's target in "Fair-weather Friends?", where he exposed Beijing's charm offensive. Judges' comments Incisive, lively and beautifully written, Dusevic's piece on Latham was the standout critique of the most analysed person in Australia at the time.
