Member, District Council of Streaky Bay 1966-1970; Active Member of Liberal Party of Australia SA Division since 1965; Member of many sporting, agricultural and service groups in the electorate. Enjoys cricket, clay target shooting, reading, flying and has a Private Pilot's Licence.

STUART

Area: approx. 339 966.0km2

Location: A country district now extending from Port Augusta, its main population centre, to the Northern Territory and Queensland borders and east to the New South Wales border. The district includes pastoral lease and unincorporated Crown lands and the Simpson Desert in the far north and extends south to the River Murray area.

History: First named as an electorate in 1936, effective at the 1938 elections but ceased to exist in 1993. The name Stuart was revived at the 1994 redistribution of electoral boundaries.
