Martin Hamilton-Smith was born in 1953, grew up and went to school in the electorate of Waite. Martin spent 23 years as an officer in the Army and later became the proprietor of a group of companies involved in child care centres. Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts (Mil), A Master of Arts (UniNSW) and an MBA (Adel). He entered the political arena in 1997 as the Member for Waite and he looks forward to continuing in this role.

Location: To the south of Adelaide and includes Urrbrae Agricultural High School, Waite Institute and Brownhill Creek Recreation Park.

History: Created at the 1991 redistribution, effective at the 1993 elections.
