John and his wife have lived in the electorate for 14 years and have 2 adult sons.
John originally trained as a high school teacher and has also completed a law degree. He has been the Member for Kaurna since 1997.
John is the Minister for Health, Environment and Conservation, Southern Suburbs and Assisting the Premier in the Arts.

John Hill was born in the western suburbs of Sydney in 1949; he settled in South Australia in 1974. He is married to Andrea, they have two sons and live in Seaford.

Area: approx. 67.1km2

Location: The district of Kaurna is a coastal seat south-west of Adelaide and takes in some of the more southerly beach suburbs of the outer metropolitan area. No changes were made to the boundaries at the 2003 redistribution.
