Cr. Kevan Porter

Deputy Mayor Albury City
Cr. Kevan Porter owns a family retail business in central Albury. Now that he has assistance with management of the business, he is keen to serve the Albury community as a councillor.

He has lived in Albury Wodonga since 1983 when he was appointed as Senior Education Officer for the Wodonga District. One of his initial roles was to assist local communities have a genuine say in school governance.

From 1992 to 1994 he was based at Benalla as Assistant General Manager of the Goulburn North Eastern region of the Education Department.

Since entering the business world in 1995, Cr. Porter is active in the Albury Chamber of Commerce and was a director of Albury Wodonga Business. He has also held executive positions with the Lighting Network, a cooperative group of independent lighting retailers situated throughout eastern Australia.

He is very experienced in assisting organizations plan for the future through wide consultation and genuine collaboration. This experience is supported by post graduate studies in Administration.

In his role with AlburyCity, Cr Porter is the Deputy Mayor and Councils representative of the Albury Central Management Committee, an independent body responsible for marketing central Albury. He is a Board member of Albury Water and Council's representative on the Albury Chamber of Commerce.

He is a member of the Cultural Precinct Working Party, the General Manager Liaison Committee, and the Wonga Wetlands Community Advisory Committee.
