Chief executive Winemakers Federation of Australia since 1 December 2003.

Started at the Federation in 1995 as Senior Analyst and was promoted to Policy Director in 1999. Prior to working at the Federation, Stephen was a Senior Research Officer with ABARE in Canberra , working on wine, horticulture and dairy issues.

Stephen's time at the Federation has been divided between policy (mostly taxation) and strategic planning.

Stephen is a board member of the Australian Wine Export Council, National Wine Foundation and Wolf Blass Foundation.
