A little evidence today to suggest that I might be right in thinking that minor parties and independents will be the big winners from the apparently insurmountable lead that the Labor Government has in the state election race. (See Loking for a Difference). The Adelaide Advertiser reports that in a poll of 473 in the marginal seat of Adelaide the Labor and Liberal between them account for just 75 per cent of voters. The Greens are doing best of the rest with seven per cent.

The Advertiser poll translates the Adelaide seat result in to a two party split in favour of Labor of 60% to 40% which is the equivalent of a nine percent swing. In the seat of Norwood The Advertiser has the split at 56% Labor to 44% Liberal - a swing of 5.5 percentage points.

In the six marginal seat polls it has conducted since December, The Advertiser has found an average swing to Labor of nearly 8%.
