A Telegraph Attack

Friday, 19th May, 2006

The political difficulties of NSW Labor that I wrote about yesterday are growing. This morning's Sydney Daily Telegraph attacks on two fronts.

The first is transport with the paper declaring:

•  State Government's failure to expand rail into the city's fast-growing suburbs has doomed Sydney to another decade of traffic gridlock.

•  The Lane Cove Tunnel tollway will be a drivers' nightmare from day one as it has been built with one lane too few -- resulting in a forecast of a four-hour gridlock in the morning peak, virtually from opening.

The second is headlined “Fish poison lies that risked lives” with the Government accused of knowing two years ago that Sydney Harbour fish had unacceptable dioxin levels – but allowing commercial fishing for another 18 months.
